What Are Flat Springs?
Flat springs (sometimes called leaf springs, clock springs, or V‑springs) are manufactured from flat strip material rather than coiled wire. They store energy via bending stress and return force when deflected. Because they can be formed into profiles, cut, stamped, or contoured, they are ideal where standard coil springs won’t fit.
